After working together on The Nail That Sticks Out, Laura Peterson approached us about producing a short film version of Gill Adams play, Shy Gas Man. After some discussion we decided that using one scene out of context of the play would do a disservice to what is a uniquely brilliant story. So, it was decided that we would produce a scene from the play as a short film that would act in the long run as a proof of concept for pursuing funding further down the line for a feature film version.
The play is set in Hull which is where Gill is from as well as our own Jordan who directed the film. Following on from this theme, the characters of Sheila and Darren are played by Hull’s own Laura Peterson and Mike Kinsey. It was important to everyone involved that the project would be driven by creatives who represent the place where the story is set.

Video: Shy Gas Man
We have already met with some producers about this project using the proof of concept film to drum up interest. The long term goal is to produce a feature film version of Shy Gas Man working closely alongside Gill Adams.
